Summary:
Mohji and Richie destroy the pet store Chouchou is guarding. Luffy defeats Mohji and brings Chouchou one bag of pet food, which is all that is left of his shop. Nami realizes that Luffy is not a destructive pirate like Buggy.
After surviving Richie's attack, Boodle and Nami try to believe that Luffy could have lived. The mayor wants to know why Luffy is in Orange Town, and Luffy replies that he wants to get the Grand Line map and the navigator.
Meanwhile, Richie and Mohji approach the pet store, only to find that Chouchou won't let them in. Chouchou fights the lion, but even if he loses, he will not give up his treasure and the memory of his owner. When Luffy goes to see Zoro, Mohji is mad at the dog for biting him. But as Luffy approaches the pet store, he finds it on fire and Chouchou barks at the loss of his greatest treasure.
While returning from the store, Mohji and his lion run into Luffy standing in the way. They can't believe he's still alive and don't understand what Luffy means by saying he's a rubber man. Mohji sends Richie to attack, but to his shock and horror, Luffy stops it with an attack. Mohji is amazed that Luffy has a Devil Fruit as his captain Buggy. Mohji begs for mercy, but Luffy explains that he is not the one Mohji needs to apologize to. Luffy reaches out to grab Mohji and throw him headfirst to the ground.
Nami and the mayor return to the ruins of Chouchou's shop. Nami expresses a strong dislike for all the pirates for what happened. When Luffy appears, she takes her dislike of pirates out on him, but Boodle holds her back and prevents her from hitting Luffy (though she claims she couldn't kill him even if she tried). Luffy places a bag of pet food in front of Choucha. Even with only a bag of food left from the store, Chouchou is grateful to Luffy for what he did. Nami wonders why Luffy would do something so un-pirate-like.
Meanwhile, Buggy gives the order to prepare the Buggy Balls as he is ready to destroy the city.
