Summary:
After the Bliking Pirates withdraw to search for their captain, the Straw Hats enter calm but cold weather. Vivi explains to them that they must be near Winter Island. Shortly after, a snowy island is in sight. Luffy is delighted by the beauty of the white landscape, though Sanji tries to explain to him that they will only stay there as long as necessary to heal Nami.
However, once they reach the coast, they are threatened by angry villagers who ask them to leave immediately. One of them even fires a bullet at Sanji. As he is about to start a fight, Vivi stops him, but is wounded by another shot in the process. An angry Luffy begins to attack them, but is stopped again by Vivi, who was only slightly injured. He explains to Luffy that violence won't solve anything and instead bows to the villagers. Luffy, understanding for Nami's good is most important, also kneels and begs the villagers for help. Seeing this humble gesture, the chief of the villagers agrees to let them in.
Luffy suggests that he pour a bucket of water on Nami to cool her down, which angers Sanji and Vivi. Vivi suggests that they anchor, as sailing without Nami's navigation experience would be too dangerous.
Later, Nami wakes up to find the crew asleep while Sanji is on alert.
The next day, Usopp wonders about the pirates they met yesterday. Sanji tells him to pay for it. They remember that the pirates left in a hurry after their captain was thrown into the ocean. They left a threat, but Sanji brushed it off again, saying they were just idiots.
Sanji then asks why it's still cold. Vivi explains that they must be near Winter Island and then explains the different types of islands. They suddenly spot land, much to the crew's delight, unfortunately when they try to anchor their ship, they are stopped by locals who don't believe them. The locals refuse even though they are informed of the sick crew member.
The locals attack the Straw Hats and even shoot Vivi, which makes the Straw Hats extremely angry. However, Vivi talks Luffy into calming his temper and showing humility. Both bow and ask the locals to send a doctor to them. This surprises the locals and their leader tells them that he will lead them to the only doctor on the island, but warns them that she is a witch.
