Summary:
Luffy and the Sanji Retrieval Team are shocked to discover that Pudding is not only one of Big Mom’s daughters, but also the daughter who became engaged to Sanji. Pudding, in turn, is equally shocked that the guests she invited to tea were Sanji’s crewmates. She asks them how they managed to get past the Totto Land cake tour before warning them that they will be killed if Big Mom discovers their presence. However, she remembers that the Straw Hats are also known pirates and obtains a knife to defend herself; Pedro threatens Pudding in return until Nami defuses the situation.
The group discusses the situation over tea. Pudding reveals that Charlotte’s family consists of 129 people (Big Mom, her 43 husbands, 39 daughters, and 46 sons) and that all of Big Mom’s children have been raised to understand that she will arrange their marriages to strengthen her crew. . However, one of Pudding’s sisters has left Whole Cake Island to marry for love, which attracts Nami’s attention.
Chopper continues and asks Pudding if she’s met Sanji yet. Pudding is confused by the question and blushes, answering that she met him once. She notes his gentlemanly demeanor, his reputed strength, and their shared passion for cooking; However, Chopper has to correct his misconception that Sanji’s nickname “Black Leg” meant that his legs were black. Luffy reacts enthusiastically to Pudding’s admiration for Sanji, but when Nami asks Pudding if she has a crush on Sanji, she is even more confused and replies that it is irrelevant because Big Mom’s orders are mandatory.
When Pedro suggests tying and gagged Pudding to prevent her from revealing their presence in Totto Land, Pudding draws a map for the Sanji Retrieval Team that reveals a secret path through Totto Land that would allow them to arrive at Whole Cake Island undetected. She realizes that despite everyone’s excitement about the upcoming wedding, and despite her own happiness at finding Sanji so ‘wonderful’ and compatible, she didn’t want to stand in the way of his intention to return to the crew. The crew express great shock at the fact that Sanji rejected a woman—Luffy is so moved that he even cries—but Pudding replies that seeing the crew’s mutual commitment to Sanji helped her decide that she didn’t want to marry someone who was a spendthrift. he regretted the wedding for the rest of his life. She arranges to bring Sanji to meet the rescue team on the southwest coast of Whole Cake Island, but warns them that Big Mom will never willingly release Sanji.
When someone knocks on the door, Pudding helps the team slip out. After purchasing some supplies, they return to the Thousand Sunny only to find Pekoms missing and a “turn back” warning scrawled in the bathroom. Luffy unabashedly states that things have finally gotten interesting and that they will continue forward.
Elsewhere, on the island of Broc Coli, Germa 66, led by the first two sons of the Vinsmoke family, is shown ending a two-year civil war after four hours. Angry that Germa took everything from him, an enemy soldier tries to shoot Vinsmoke’s eldest son while his back is turned. However, he orders the German agent to take the bullet. He then turns the soldier’s gun to point at the soldier’s head and remarks that he doesn’t care about the soldier’s family or the war and that the war will make him late for Sanji’s wedding. Vinsmoke then executes the soldier. Meanwhile, Vinsmoke’s second son receives compensation paid by the “victorious side” to Germa for her help in defeating their enemies. The two Vinsmokes then contact the invisible individual through Den Den Mushi and learn that Sanji has already arrived at Whole Cake Island. The elder Vinsmoke comments that he can’t wait to see Sanji again, but the latter calls him a liar. They promise to arrive at Whole Cake Island the day before the wedding.
The two Vinsmoke brothers are eventually shown standing on top of a building watching their destruction of the city while Germa 66 is celebrated by the populace she “saved”.
