Summary:
The chapter begins with Noah, where the people are seen fleeing to the ark. Someone gives the order for the men to be quiet and board the ship. One man says they managed to escape before they were found. Another voice says that they will never return to Fish-Man Island and should give up all hope of ever entering the Mermaid Cafe. Captain “Crab-Hand” Gyro, a South Blue pirate, notes how terrible their trip was, recalling being attacked by a kraken and then ambushed by the New Fish-Man Pirates and forced to join them. One of his crew comes to him in tears and says that he always dreamed of going to the Mermaid Cafe. His captain tells him to give up all hope and says they were lucky to escape with their lives. Next, Jones is seen asking if the crew had escaped, to which the underling replied that they had. Jones and his officers are then shown discussing what to do with the human crew. Ikaros asks if he could take care of the crew. Jones says no and takes some pills from the bowl. His muscle mass will then expand and his eyes will change.
The scene then changes to Pappago’s house. Pappag brags about being the president and celebrity designer of the Criminal Brand Company on Fish-Man Island. He goes on to say how he’s going to open stores all over the world, and then mentions that Doskoi Panda is approaching. He then starts sobbing as Luffy noticed something and started talking to him. Camie tells Luffy that there is a crime scene on the first floor and realizes that someone is excited inside. A voice is then heard complaining about the store’s high prices. They walk in and see Nami negotiating with the clerk, asking less than half the price for the clothes. Usopp isn’t surprised to see that she’s the one complaining. Luffy calls out to her and Nami is happy to see him and Camie. The clerk is relieved to see Pappago and tells him about the unhappy customer. Nami lifts the starfish behind her face and asks him why the prices are so high. Pappag explains that this is because Criminal is a brand and he is a popular designer. Nami demands a discount. Pappag tells her that he owes them for what they did two years ago, so he can take anything he wants for free. Nami, Luffy, Usopp, and Brook then empty the store of all merchandise while Pappag yells at them to show restraint. There is a commotion outside. One of Pappago’s employees runs in and says there is trouble. Someone described only as “you know who” was coming from the Ryugu Palace. They look to the sky to see a whale. Camie and Pappag immediately recognize the person, Camie says it’s the first time she’s seen him in person. One man wonders why he came alone instead of bringing an army with him. People wonder if the country is in danger or if the island has been invaded by pirates. Someone is calling for evacuation. The man in question turns out to be King Neptune, riding his whale, Hoe. Usopp comments on Neptune’s size, Brook says he prefers mermaids, Luffy comments on how weird the Merman looks. Pappag pulls Luffy’s face and asks if he knows how rude he is. Nami comments on how cute the whale looks. Neptune approaches the pirates much to the surprise of the locals. Neptune asks Megalo (the shark that the Straw Hats freed from the kraken) if he had the right people. The shark nods and Nami recognizes him from earlier. Neptune calls out to the crew, calling them “straw hat people” and invites them to Ryugu’s palace. Camie and Pappag are shocked, but Luffy looks confused.
The scene then changes back to the pirates from the beginning of the chapter. Someone on the ship yells at them to hurry or they will be spotted. Someone else says that it’s hard to catch a current in the deep sea and adds that they should have righted the boat with a paddle. Two crew members notice something in front of the ship. It’s Hody Jones. Jones raises his wrists to show he is in handcuffs. Ikaros Many comment on how the energy steroid is a real treasure. Meanwhile, Jones crashed into the ship, drilling a hole in the ship’s hull on the port side. One pirate calls them to get the fish man out because he is all alone. Jones then bursts through the deck, grabbing a crew member in his teeth and sending two others flying. Gyro then says that he has already fought fishmen and overcome everything before him to get this far. He attacks Jones with his claw and Jones bites off part of Gyro’s arm, breaking the claw. The crew then fire at the fishman, but he emerges largely unharmed. He then bites into the ship’s mast and throws it off. A crew member realizes why Jones was wearing handcuffs to show that he could defeat them without using his hands. Zeo, while holding an energy steroid, states that fish men are naturally born with ten times the strength of humans. One energy steroid will double their strength, and taking two would increase their strength twice more, so quadruple, and since Jones took four, he’s at least 160 times stronger than a normal human. In exchange, a portion of their life is shaved off. They don’t care because they carry out their plans without fear of death. Jones goes on to talk about how Fisher Tiger’s life was destroyed by humans, as well as Arlong’s will. He goes on to say that fish men will end their dark history in this generation. The mast that was bitten is now thrown upside down overboard impaling the ship which is now trapped in a bubble. As he tears off his handcuffs, Jones orders the bubble to be sent back to the New World, declaring with some disappointment that the entire crew did not die. He says he needs them alive, he wants them to come back to the surface and tell people what happened to them and who did it and spread fear. He then declares that they will steal back Fish-Man Island, which he calls the center of the world, from Neptune, and drag all humans down into the abyss that is at the bottom of the sea, teaching them that fish-men are the supreme race.
