Summary:
Luffy is running out of time in his quest to free Zoro, Nami, and Vivi, and Mr. 3 tries to finish him off by creating a powerful wax armor. Despite Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine trying to stop them, Usopp and Karoo manage to wrap a rope covered in oil around Mr. 3’s candlestick, and Luffy uses Mr. 3’s burning hair to light it and try to melt the wax. Meanwhile, Sanji discovers a house made of wax.
Sanji notes that he’s been waiting for the Going Merry for a while, so he decides to go take a look and see what’s going on. As he calls Nami and Vivi, he notices a house made of wax. Meanwhile, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine tell an angry Luffy to accept the death of his friends. Mr. 3 then creates a massive wax armor around his body that he calls the “Candle Champion” and prepares to finish off Luffy. Mr. 3 wants Miss Goldenweek to paint his suit, but she refuses, and Luffy is distracted as he stares at the Candle Champion in awe. After Usopp yells at him, Luffy tries to attack, but his punch is easily deflected by Mr. 3’s giant wax fist. Mr. 3 punches Luffy, who tries to respond with a kick to the face, but Mr. 3 defends himself from the kick.
Usopp then realizes that they can use fire to melt the wax from Mr. 3’s candles and tells Luffy. However, Mr. 3 reveals that Zoro, Nami, and Vivi’s hearts will stop in 30 seconds due to their wax encasement. Usopp tries to free them by firing a fireball, but Mr. 5 shoots him with an explosive bullet. Luffy tries to attack Mr. 5, but Mr. 3 punches him into the ground, and when Usopp tries to hand Karoo the rope, Miss Valentine confronts him. Sitting on top of Usopp and steadily increasing his weight, Mr. 5 shoots Karoo as the duck runs off with the rope. Luffy manages to get to Mr. 3’s head and pulls his hair, intending to use the flame on the end of it to free his friends. Usopp tells Luffy to burn the Karoo rope, which is covered in oil and is now wrapped around the candlestick. Luffy then slams Mr. 3 headfirst into the end of the rope in front of him.
