 Summary:

Usopp discovers Nami’s family and what her true intentions were when she joined the Straw Hats. Zoro is captured by Arlong in Arlong Park and discovers that Nami has been working with Arlong since day one.
When Nojiko tells Usopp that the house he is currently in is the house where Nami lived as a child, she also informs him that they are adopted sisters and tells him that their “mother” is dead. Usopp says that Nami betrayed her village because she joined the Arlong Pirates who control her hometown, Cocoyasi Village. Nojiko questions Usopp’s business with Nami. Usopp replies that with all the information he’s received, he has some things to think about. Plus he says all she wanted from the crew was the treasure and asks why she saved his village and looked happy with them. Nojiko asks Nami if she is happy and then repeats that he shouldn’t start anything with the Arlong Pirates because it will lead to death. Usopp replies that he will just leave because he found the ship. After Nojiko points to the Going Merry, Usopp realizes that they have landed near Cocoyasi Village and Usopp begins to panic. Nojiko asks what’s going on, and Usopp replies that he remembered that one of his crew members was captured by the fishmen and is in critical condition.
Zoro was indeed taken to Arlong Park where he is interrogated by Arlong. Zoro insults Arlong by calling him a half-fish mutant and repeats that he is looking for a girl. Arlong says that one day Zoro will forgive the insult and says that fishmen are superior to humans. Shortly after, to Zoro’s surprise, Nami seemed to be aligned with Arlong. Arlong says that she is an exception to the human race and informs him that she is a cartographer for the Arlong Pirates. Zoro questions why Nami would side with Arlong. Ask questions if they are familiar. Nami replies that he was just another victim. Then Zoro asks Nami if this is her “true self” and she says “yes” and that she was connected to Arlong all along. After Nami’s statement, Arlong laughs and calls her a “cold-blooded witch” who only wants money. Hearing Arlong make such a statement, Nami hid with a frown. Zoro notices this and jumps into the pool, shocking everyone. Nami dives into the water and saves Zoro. After the rescue, Nami asks what he was doing, to which Zoro comments that he should ask her that question, saying that she shouldn’t be tough. Nami replies that she doesn’t want him involved anymore. Afterwards, Nami tells the fish man to shut Zoro up and later kills him. Shortly after, a fish man approaches Arlong and says that the desired nose has escaped. Arlong says the person is probably in the Cocoyasi village and says they have to attend to them anyway.
In the village of Cocoyasi, the villagers heard of Arlong’s arrival and wondered what his job was now that he had collected the tribute. Genzo replies that Arlong found his weapons. Arlong arrives and begins questioning Genzo about having weapons. Genzo replies that it’s a hobby to collect weapons. Arlong says he can’t own any weapons because all they do is violence. Frightened, Usopp says that he is not human. Nojiko replies that he is a fish man and says that Nami must be in Arlong Park since she is not with Arlong. Arlong threatens Genza by stating that he destroyed the Gosa village because no one paid the dues. Nojiko explains to Usopp that the tribute is the money they pay each month to live under Arlong’s protection. If one person in a village fails to pay, the entire village is destroyed. Before leaving, Arlong tells the town to work hard for the money as the tribute time is approaching.
Back at Arlong Park, Nami rushes Zoro to escape from Arlong’s return.
