Read One Piece Manga Chapter 652

 Summary:

Jinbe and Neptune are talking in Ryugu's palace. Neptune asks how the Sun Pirates are doing under Big Mom's jurisdiction. Jinbe says she's not the most reasonable boss, but they could do whatever they wanted. Neptune comments that it must be hard for Jinbe to take orders from someone who wasn't a Fisher Tiger. Jinbe replies that he is not picky about who his boss is and that it is good strategy to serve the Emperor to ensure the safety of his crew. Neptune is surprised because he thought that Jinbe did this for Fish-Man Island because Jinbe kept the island safe under Big Mom's name. Jinbe comments that it's just a coincidence and that he and his crew should be protecting the island, but they can't because they're wanted by pirates. Jinbe then announces that she will cut ties with Big Mom. Neptune concludes that it's because Jinbe wants to join the Straw Hats. Jinbe adds that oral contracts are much harder to get rid of than written agreements and that there is a chance that Big Mom will direct her anger at the island. Neptune tells him that he's taking on too much responsibility, adding that the army just got another seventy thousand soldiers from the Fish-Man District and he found another flag to borrow: the Straw Hats, an idea that Jinbe likes.

The Minister of the Right comes in breathless and says he remembered something important about the treasure the Straw Hats got. He must return the tamatebako. It contains a bomb and is rigged to explode when opened. The minister did this after it was stolen ten years ago as a security measure. Neptune agrees to ask for their return. A guard enters and announces that the Straw Hats have returned. Nami, Neptune, and the Minister of Right are then shocked to hear that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji gave the treasure to Big Mom. Luffy tells them that she was going to destroy the island, that she is crazy, and that he would fight her, stunning everyone except Shirahoshi. Jinbe realizes that she has to leave Big Mom now before things get any worse. She suggests that the straw hats must not irritate her any more than they have. The Minister of the Right whispers to Neptune that Big Mom might take the bomb as an act of war. Nami then sympathizes with Luffy, saying that he stood his ground like any man. He then hits Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji for giving away all the treasure. Luffy then states that they should go to the New World.

Outside the Candy Factory, Caribou woke up and realized that all the treasure he had stolen was gone. He says that if he brings back the princess and the treasure, he might get on a certain person's good side. He then sees a crowd of people near Tamago and Pekoms carrying three large bags. Caribou realizes that he must have the treasure. He attacks them and demands the treasure back. Pekoms recognizes him and looks for him in the book. A gatling gun protrudes from Caribou's stomach and fires at Pekoms. Pekoms is knocked down, but when the dust clears, he is seen hidden in a turtle shell. Caribou realizes he must be Zoan. He flies to Pekoms with a scythe. Pekoms blocks the attack with a single Haki-charged strike, shattering the scythe and sending Caribou flying. Pekoms then mentions that Logia's downfall is her own pride in invincibility. Pekoms and Tamago then leave.

The scene changes to the New World near the red line. The marines fight several pirate ships coming from the sea. Someone shouts that Captain Tashigi is in trouble. Two Marines in love try to hug her to protect her. He jumps out of the way towards the incoming cannonball. Using her sword, she manages to redirect the cannonball, which flies away from the ship. The two soldiers cheer, but she tells them to stop joking. She curses at them, not knowing that she is yelling at the ship's mast. He asks how they could joke now. She then accuses them of teasing her for being a woman. Smoker tells her to be quiet as he is in the middle of an interrogation. Turning to his prisoners, Smoker repeats that the pirates were enslaved by Hody Jones, citing this as an explanation for why no new recruits have come across Fish-Man Island in the past month. But now they come out of the sea practically continuously. The captured pirates then go on to say that there was a pirate who stopped Hody's war and eventually freed them. He won't tell Smoker the name though. One guy shuts him up and says they're dealing with the G-5, listing rumors of their torture methods. The other marines ask Smoker if they could have a prisoner now. The pirate blurts out in a panic that it was Luffy who saved them. Smoker tells them he already knew.
