Summary:
As the newly reunited Vinsmoke family eats breakfast in their castle’s throne room, the judge muses that Broc Coli Island was one of the many nations affected by the fall of Doflamingo’s arms trade; he and Reiju note that one side retreated and hired Germa 66 out of desperation to end the war rather than continue sustaining losses. However, Ichiji and Niji express complete indifference to the politics of the war and only care about the money they have earned. Yonji considered the possibility of increasing profits by working for both sides, but the judge says that they would be no better than pirates. Niji then mentions the upcoming Levely, and the Judge replies that as their goal nears its end, the World Government will likely strip the Vinsmokes of their right to participate in the Levely.
Niji comments that it’s strange to see his father in high spirits, expressing surprise that Sanji has finally proven himself useful to them. He tells Sanji that when Sanji left his family 13 years ago, the brothers often thought of funny ways for him to die, causing Yonji to laugh. Sanji’s only response is to tell Niji to finish the food left on his plate, but Niji replies that it was disgusting and that he will throw it away. Sanji’s expression darkens as he orders Niji to eat it, calling him a spoiled prince who doesn’t know the value of food. This infuriates Niji, who calls Chef Cosette; Cosette appears and apologizes vehemently for making a meal that Niji didn’t like, and Niji tells her to stay still as he throws his plate right at her. Sanji catches the plate before it makes contact with Cosette, causing the food to fall to the floor. Both Niji and Sanji are angry, with the latter expressing rage at the former’s attempt to hurt the woman. Niji replies that he is just a lowly servant, but Sanji picks up the food, inspects it, and praises its nutritional value. Cosette tries to stop him so she can clean it up herself, but Sanji remarks that she had to go to great lengths to prepare the food, and he eats it off the floor, shocking Cosette. All of the Vinsmokes (except Reiju) are taken aback by Sanji’s action, but Sanji continues by telling Cosette that she used the perfect seasoning for this dish, causing her to become nervous and cry at the heartfelt tribute from one of the royals.
Enraged, Niji tries to kick Sanji, but the Judge tells him not to attack Sanji before the wedding. Niji stops his kick right in front of Sanji’s face, though his force is enough to knock Cosette down. Niji calls Sanji a disgrace to their family, but Sanji replies that being in this family was shameful for him. Sanji begins berating them for not appreciating food, hurting women, and treating their subordinates like expendable pawns. Ichiji then interjects and says that Sanji’s comments just show that he has spent too much time hanging out with commoners and that they should act like kings. The judge agrees with Ichiji and Niji and holds up a photo of Zeff, wondering if he is responsible for Sanji’s negative upbringing. Sanji is shocked that his father knows about Zeff, and Judge claims that they have pinpointed Baratia’s location. The judge recalls receiving both the exploding bracelets and Zeff’s photograph from Tamago before telling his son that if he continued to challenge and defy him, he would see to it that Zeff was killed. The Judge tells Sanji that this is his first and last warning before telling Sanji that he will leave his old friends and his old life behind if he wants everyone to remain unharmed. As his siblings leave the throne room, Sanji remembers how he was raised by Zeff to be a Baratie, as well as their tearful farewell, and the Judge instructs him to prepare to travel to Whole Cake Island for their lunch meeting with Big Mom and Pudding later in the day.
Later, Sanji encounters a badly beaten and unconscious Cosette, who becomes angry with Niji for his possible vengeful actions. Yonji appears and says that Sanji brought this on himself and Cosette by standing up for her. Yonji asks if Sanji wants to confront Niji and Sanji accepts his offer, but ends up in front of a high security room instead; Yonji reminds Sanji that this was the same room they were never allowed to enter as children. They enter the room and Sanji expresses his disbelief as he sees dozens of Germa 66 soldiers held in large bottle-shaped containers.
