Summary:
As the Thousand Sunny approaches Wano Country, Luffy and his group are informed of Levely through a newspaper, which revives the memories of the crew, especially Sanji and Chopper. Suddenly, they notice an unusual weather disturbance in their direction, followed by an octopus on their boat and also a school of huge carp on their side. The crew splits up after a bumpy ride through a river, waterfall and whirlpool.
Luffy wakes up on the beach with Sunny at his side, wondering where everyone went. He then encounters a komaina and a giant baboon with a katana, leading him to confirm that this is indeed Wano Country.
As the Thousand Sunny sails through the sea, Nami gets a newspaper and reveals to Luffy that Levely is happening, saying that Shirahoshi and members of the Ryugu royal family have come to her. Sanji sees a picture of Vivi in it and gushes over her beauty, and the Straw Hats look and see the pictures, recognizing old friends and enemies in them. Nami then shows Chopper a picture of Kureha and Chopper cuts it out of the paper while Sanji cuts out pictures of the princesses. This angers Nami because she hasn’t read the back of the paper yet and wants to know what it says about Big Mom and Kaidou. Luffy is happy to see his old friends and says that he will visit them again after their voyage is complete. Brook asks him to try calling their ally on Wano again with Den Den Mushi and Luffy does but gets no response and decides to move on.
However, the crew soon approaches an approaching storm with unusual wind conditions and waves surrounding it. Luffy rejects Brook’s suggestion to wait out the storm, and Nami reminds Brook of Kin’emon who told them that Wano Country is always surrounded by terrible weather. Suddenly, an octopus appears on their boat and salutes them as it makes noise, and Sunny is surrounded by a school of giant carp. Sanji is shocked to see a freshwater species in the ocean, and after confirming that they can be cooked, Luffy tries to catch one. He is pulled from the ship, and while he argues with the fish, the Straw Hats concentrate on navigating the monstrous waves. The water is very clear and the crew wonders if they are sailing down the river as the current sweeps it where the carp are headed.
They find themselves at the bottom of a waterfall through which carp swim. Nami wonders if Wano Country is located on top of a waterfall, but the crew is afraid that they will float into the falls and sink. Luffy then returns to the ship and grabs two carp to pull the ship up. The carp pull Sunny to the top of the falls, but the crew quickly discovers that she is floating into an eddy. Luffy is eventually submerged underwater before washing ashore with Sunny at her side; the rest of the crew is nowhere to be seen. Luffy is awakened by a crab nibbling on his nose, and looks around for his crewmates to see a large komaina flying towards Sunny. Luffy doesn’t know what kind of animal it is, but he senses a fight going on as a giant sword-wielding baboon approaches them. Because of his sword, Luffy believes he has reached Wano Country.
