Long summary
On the roof of the Skull Dome, Kaidou tells Yamato that the Devil Fruit he once ate – Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami – is a very valuable Zoan Mythic Fruit and that it was a mistake for Yamato to let someone claiming to be Oden get his power because “Okuchi no Makami” is the Wano “Guardian Deity”. Kaidou states that Yamato should protect Wan for him, which he refuses, but Kaidou simply says that Orochi had a knack for exploitation, and seeing how his actions turned Wan into such a large weapons factory, all he has to do is. is to take control and keep it going. However, Yamato says that he plans to help protect the earth from Kaido and open it up before releasing a blast of sorts called Namuji Hyoga from his mouth, which Kaido counters with his Bolo breath before saying that he won’t. so be it.
In the banquet hall on the third floor, Nico Robin is approached by what appear to be her deceased loved ones: her mother Nico Olvia, her mentor Professor Clover, and Jaguar D. Saul. The three of them tell her to approach them, and Robin begins to do so with open arms. However, Brook tries to tell her over and over not to go to them, and she sure enough stops and admits that the enemy is trying to trick her, using Tres Mano: Freesia to hit the fakes and reveal them as subordinates Black Maria: SMILE the eaters Nure-Onna and Tenjo-Sagari, and the woman Number Kunyun, who was disguised by the Black Maria Mist illusion. As Brook and Robin then run away from Black Maria and her lackeys down the hall, Brook tells Robin that she should have given him a sign that she wasn’t affected by their trick. Robin notices how it didn’t affect Brook either, who explains that it was because he had been adrift in the Florian Triangle for fifty years, dreaming of his deceased crew being alive, so he had gotten used to being hurt by the illusion. Robin casually notes how similar the two are due to all their past traumas, just as Black Maria uses Furisode Wanyudo to strike at them but misses. Her weapon, a staff whose head is a flaming wanyudo, is revealed to be another SMILE user aptly named Wanyudo, a man who ate SMILE’s pug and keeps the staff burning by running around in his wheel like a hamster.
Black Maria jumps to the ceiling using her spider silk to keep herself suspended upside down, and states that her enemies are clearly dreaming if they think they can defeat Kaidou. The two Straw Hats dodge Black Maria’s whirling attack, which sets the floor on fire. Robin uses the Spider Web to hold herself up and Brook, also hanging from the ceiling, screams how Black Maria will burn down the entire castle if she keeps this up. Black Maria sarcastically thanks her for her concern and notes how maybe Robin should just give up and let herself get caught. However, Brook uses a move called Cold Soul to freeze Wanyudo and clear the fires. Enraged, Black Maria turns on Robin, causing her to drop the ceiling. As she falls, Black Maria insults Robin by knowing deep down that the Straw Hats will sell her, while Brook freezes the fire on the ground with Soul Parade so Robin can land safely.
Black Maria says that Sanji knew she was hunting Robin and still called him to the location, claiming that Robin is just baggage for her friends because of the powerful characters that are after her. He adds that since Sanji is now a laughingstock to Onigashi, and yet they are number two straw hats, their crew must be really low. Robin and Brook are unfazed by Black Mary’s insults, and Brook simply asks Robin if she would like to take care of Black Mary herself from now on, which Robin confirms and leaves Black Mary subordinate to Brook. Robin tells Black Maria that her insults mean nothing because she knows how kind Sanji is and Black Maria would never understand what it means to him to rely on Robin. Robin calls Sanji one of the “Two Wings of the Pirate King” to allow him to take off, and then performs a new technique, Gigante Fleur, to create a giant, multi-armed clone of herself behind it.
Down in Udon’s Tokage Port, Momonosuke and Shinobu reunited with Luffy and the Heart Pirates, who gave Luffy all of his food, yet he still demands more meat. Momonosuke is relieved to see Luffy alive, but begins to cry over what happened to Kin’emon and Kikunoi, but Luffy tells him not to cry yet until he is beaten by Kaido. In the distance, Caribou follows Luffy with the others and demands that Luffy pull himself together or he (Caribou) will never escape Wano. Luffy then points into the air, at the floating Onigashi, and tells Momonosuke that he needs him to help take him back to the island by transforming into a dragon and flying him up.
