Summary:
Luffy empowers the reluctant Momonosuke, who is afraid of heights, in his giant pink dragon form to fly and take him up into the sky to Onigashima. Meanwhile, in a fierce battle against Kaidou, Yamato vows to survive until Luffy returns.
Luffy urges Momonosuke to fly and grows impatient, but the young master is paralyzed by his fear of heights.
Meanwhile, Yamato engages Kaidou and the two continue to exchange blows. Yamato is able to make Kaidou bleed and is able to defend himself against Kaidou’s attacks with Mirror Mountain. He declares that he cannot die until Luffy returns. Kaidou mocks Yamato’s determination to protect Wan because Yamato is still his son, so the people of Wan would never see him as an ally. Kaidou continues to laugh at how Yamato doesn’t even have any friends.
Yamato disagrees as he remembers Ace who became his friend when the latter came to Wan. However, he remembers that when he was a child, one of Kaidou’s men helped him by giving him food when he was hungry and a blanket when he was cold. The same pirate was executed when he was found to have aided Kaidou’s son. Kaidou points out that all those who were good to Yamato are all dead, including the samurai who were locked in the Sacred Cave with him. Yamato rejects him, saying that they all died because he killed him, to which Kaidou replies that they got in the way of him raising his child.
Back at Tokage Port, Luffy stretches Momonosuke’s dragon beard to make him fly. Finally, Momonosuke flies towards Onigashima, albeit with his eyes closed due to fear. Flying blindly, Momonosuke crashes into the Skull Dome and flies through the castle, destroying walls and ceilings as he runs wildly. He finally opens his eyes and finds his way to the roof where he sees Kaido and Yamato. Yamato prepares the Shinsoku Hakujaku technique and Luffy joins him in Gear 4 using his Snakeman: Jet Culverin technique. They both attack at the same time, sending Kaidou through the roof.
